The Bible is Power and Truth!
John Piper speaks to pastors about how and why to preach the word of God and not get caught up in the Christian consumerism culture that pervades many of our churches right now. Many pulpits are used to preach little stories and essentially the thoughts of the preacher rather than God’s thoughts.
Piper suggests that many preachers are fascinated by trends, fads and what the latest sociologists and psychologists are saying because it is interesting. He does not deny that these things are interesting but argues that these things people can find out anywhere, but what they wont find anywhere else except in the pulpit is “What does God have to say”.
